Princess Mononoke, One of the best tenth cartoon of the world, stimulated me to write an article with the same title to try to answer the questions about old grieves of the world.
We are not the world’s inheritors. We haven’t proved our family tie; however we claimed inheritance.
Among all human beings we, architects, are the culprits. Architects who surrender their client’s interminable and self-centered ambitions. Architects who believed more is more, less is more, and sometimes more is less, the ones who situated a house in a hill or on a hill without seeing the spirit of the hill. Architects who saw a house as a machine or a machine as a house or a house as a house and who have never asked themselves whether they have the right of building it or not.
Perchance we, architects, had better retreat from work and ponder. And then we should shout Anthony C. Antoniades quote in ‘Poetic of Architecture’ together: “Don’t construct due to construction “.
Do we have the right of building on a planet which is not ours?
